Dental Implants VS Dentures

Dental implants provide a permanent dental restoration option that will last a lifetime for individuals with missing or failing teeth. Unlike dentures that can shift, fall out and can be messy to maintain; dental implants can restore an individual’s bite with a permanent solution that no longer restricts what they can eat or what they can drink.
Dental Implants preserve and straighten the jawbone while preserving a more youthful facial structure while dentures lead to loss of jawbone and overall facial structure. They also feel, look and function as natural teeth, unlike dentures that can slip out of place, can feel and look unnatural. In most cases dentures also require adhesive cream application. When patients have implants placed, they can resume normal chewing and have no need to avoid any kind of food. Foods such as steaks, apples, popcorn's etc. should be avoided with dentures.
Implants are permanent solution with good overall oral maintenance and health. It is easy to clean and maintain. Implants will be a great investment that will last a lifetime. Dentures initially will cost less, but in most cases cost more over lifetime, because it eventually requires realignment. Lastly, dentures need to be removed regularly to be cleaned and then reapplied which most patients find inconvenient and uncomfortable. Rather than living with the discomfort and hassles of dentures, many people are opting for what is called full mouth dental implant restoration.
