Tooth crowns
Dental prosthetics, which is the process of making and installing tooth crowns instead of decayed teeth, is the most common type of services provided by modern dental clinics. Tooth crowns are micro-prostheses, orthopaedic structures used to restore the decayed teeth. The tooth crown imitates a real tooth and aims at preserving the remnants of the decayed tooth, or at replacing it with a new one. If there is no tooth at all, then a pin or an inlay core is inserted into the root canal (a more reliable option) and a tooth crown is attached to them. If there is a tooth, but it is decayed, then it is treated if possible, the root canals are filled, and then a tooth crown is put on it.
Affordable Dentistry of South Florida recommends tooth crowns of zirconium oxide, since they have a natural shade and high strength. Thanks to the digital method of scanning stone models, manufacturing individual prostheses using a robotic machine makes the product more aesthetically appealing. As a result, the installed tooth crown based on zirconium dioxide is no different from a healthy tooth.
Benefits of tooth crowns of zirconium dioxide
Maximum precision. German CAD/CAM technology creates a copy of the tooth with precision, given the shape of the patient’s gums.
Strength. Zirconium dioxide (ZrSiO2) exceeds all dental materials in this indicator, which reduces the risk of chipping.
Ease. Low weight compared with metal products reduces the risk of tooth and gum disease, and eliminates patient discomfort.
Aesthetics. Prosthetics with zirconia tooth crowns retains the natural color of teeth due to the ability of the mineral to partially transmit light.
Biocompatibility. Mineral is the only material available to patients with endocrine, gastrointestinal, blood and kidney problems.

Steps to manufacture tooth crowns
Crown preparation and impression taking. (The doctor takes a jaw impression, which are then sent to the laboratory to get tooth crowns of zirconium dioxide to feat the patient’s teeth. A temporary crown will be available for you while the laboratory makes a permanent one).
Fitting and installing. (When your permanent zirconia crown is ready (usually it takes 10 business days to make it in the laboratory), our assistant will call you and you will make an appointment. The doctor carefully removes the temporary crown and tries on a permanent one and, if the patient decides so, places a permanent zirconia crown.
In addition to it, there is a crown made of PFM material, which is cheaper. This is a great combination of price and quality. They are popular with patients and distinguished by their high aesthetic characteristics.
