Porcelain Laminate Veneers allow changing the shape and color of teeth, correcting their defect position, and achieving a dazzling ‘Hollywood’ smile. Veneer is a thin ceramic scale, which is firmly glued to the tooth. They are very easy to confuse with porcelain crowns by sight, but unlike crowns, veneers are considered more sensitive methods of aesthetic correction in dentistry. This is due to the fact that a very small amount of enamel is removed from the tooth, generally only from the front side, to install the veneer. Thus, the patient gets the desired result with minimal loss.
Porcelain laminate veneers are not only the most sensitive ones today, but the most hygienic, and, therefore, durable. Porcelain is easy to clean, with practically no plaque on it, and it is closest to enamel by its physical characteristics. In terms of aesthetics, it has no equals at all.
All ‘Hollywood’ smiles are not made at movie studios, but in a dentist chair. Moreover, veneers were invented by a Hollywood dentist precisely for the cinema. Initially, they were made of plastic and dedicated for filming. Only the latest technology allowed creating porcelain laminate veneers and gluing them on composite cements for many years. We are very lucky to live in the 21st century with modern technologies that allow us to fundamentally change the smile with flaws to the ideal one in just 2 visits.Step 1
As a first step, the doctor and patient determine the color and shape they want. The teeth are further prepared with anesthesia, i.e. a very thin layer of enamel is removed, which will later replace porcelain. The doctor takes impressions from the teeth, which are used to make permanent veneers in the laboratory (it usually takes 10 business days). After the first visit, the patient leaves the office with temporary veneers.Step 2
Once permanent veneers have been delivered from the laboratory to the dental clinic, the fitting and installation of permanent veneers is carried out.
