Not so long ago, one-step dental implant placement seemed like an unrealistic procedure. It was hard to imagine that immediately after tooth extraction, an artificial implant could be placed in its place. But today it is no longer a fantasy, many dental clinics successfully perform such operations.

Indications for dental implant placement in one session are situations leading to tooth extraction in the following cases:

If the patient is found to have a lack of bone tissue, it is restored with a sinus elevator and then a classic dental implant is placed.

• time saving, which is achieved by not having to wait for the gum traumatized by the extraction to heal. The entire surgery, consisting of tooth extraction and subsequent implant placement, takes about 20-40 minutes;
• there is no need to traumatize the gum twice, as the titanium implant is immediately placed in the hole formed after tooth extraction. This reduces the risk of hematoma, swelling or inflammation by half;
• the risk of bone deformation is reduced, which is possible with a two-stage operation, when the load on the gum as a result of tooth extraction is reduced, so that at the time of implant placement the bone tissue may even be partially resorbed. In the case of implant placement in one session, the period of reduced load on the bone tissue remains at the lowest possible level.
• the aesthetic appearance of the dentition is preserved. A temporary crown can be placed on the implant immediately. It will, of course, have some external differences from the neighboring teeth, but will allow the patient to get rid of the need to hide the defect formed at the site of extraction. After gum healing and final implant healing, a permanent crown is placed.

The essence of the procedure for dental implant placement in one session boils down to the fact that immediately after tooth extraction, the patient receives an implant, abutment and a temporary crown corresponding to the color of his own teeth. Compared to classical implant placement, this procedure is much less traumatic and more comfortable psychologically.
